DCYF Funds Pathways For Kids  Miami Trip

(Expanding Multiple Pathways To Education And Employment Success)

 On Wednesday April 2nd  the San Francisco Youth Employment Council (SFYEC), which comprises several community based programs  sent me and 12 other youth providers on an all expense paid trip to Miami Florida for the National Youth Employment Coalition’s ” NYEC Members Forum 2008.

The request from SFYEC is that I bring back vital information to head the Education and Professional Development Committee in San Francisco.    

The Forum and NYEC is working on the Goal of  “Expanding Multiple Pathways To Education And Employment Success”

In order to accomplish this task, the National Coalition seeks to synergize the work of stakeholders in Workforce Development, Education, and Youth Development.

The 3 day Forum included Business Meetings on Thursday an Opening Plenary Session and 3 Rounds Of Discussion Sessions on Friday, a  Morning Plenary, 4th round of discussions and closing plenary on Saturday.  In Between the sessions there were orientations, a networking reception, breakfast, lunch, and also “Dinner Groups on the town”
